Memorial Weekend with the Herders

It was a really busy Memorial weekend - we started with the Elliotts and ended up with the Herders. Sunday CeCe and her mom headed up to Grandma and Grandpa Herder's cabin to catch up with Uncle Pete, Auntie Lizzie and "Baby" Glorie. The girls had a lot of fun together swimming in the cold lake (blue lips were not unusual this weekend). Here are a couple cute pics from our visit. The summer is already flying by - I'll do my best to keep up with the cute pics.

Memorial Weekend with the Elliotts

CeCe had a great time spending almost a week with Grandma and Grandpa Elliott while her folks took a vacation to Puerto Vallarta. She had a lot of fun playing and even got a chance to pet (and chase) some deer at the Wilderness Walk. Thanks Roger and Ellen for taking such good care of her! On Saturday we got the chance to catch up with Mark's cousins at Aunt Lisa's place. CeCe goofed off with Morgan and really enjoyed "Baby" Will. Danica and Aaron have already made it into CeCe's "globess" before bed. Here are a couple pics from our day.

Two-year Olds can be pretty funny!

I just wanted to include a list of all of the goofy things that CeCe is saying as she learns the language. She has such a fresh grasp of everything and I don't want to forget how she makes me laugh -

  • whenever she is in trouble now, she says "Happy Mother's Day!" Who can stay mad when someone says that to you??
  • cookies are pronouced "kerkies"

  • guitars are pronounced "chitar" and apparently every stick we see is a "chitar" that needs to be picked up and played.
  • God bless in prayers is "Globess" and it is suprising how many folks she remembers to bless!

  • she has a toy tiger that blows bubbles called the "bubble tiger" (it is fun to say)

  • she will go into a speech about her broken arm on occasion "broken arm, pink cast, better now"

  • she thinks burping is pretty funny and fakes burping noises and laughs like crazy

  • when she wants to be picked up, she says "Pick you up" - still working on the me and you

  • says "lemon in" when talking about letting the dogs in from outside.

  • "almost done" means she is already done and will get out of the chair/highchair whether you are ready or not

  • on a rainy Friday evening "Someone is peeing" as we are eating dinner. "No honey, no one is peeing. It is just the sound of the rain".
  • Mama passed gas and said, "Excuse me." Cece said, "You're welcome."
I will keep adding to this list as I remember them - and as they continue to occur.

Working in the Yard

Mark has been working hard at creating a deck for the hot tub - no simple task. He has gotten some great help from his friend Derek and Uncle Scottie too. Here are some great pics from last weekend of some of the hard work and the family who came to help celebrate my birthday too.

Water Park Weekend

We had a wonderful weekend in the Dell's with the Elliotts and Millers. The girls (and grown-ups too) had a great time goofing off at the park and stayed at a great condo with room for all. It was cold and drizzly outside on Saturday and Sunday, but all of the fun was inside, so we didn't care. Here are some great pics from the weekend.

An Overdue Easter Posting

Time is really flying and a posting about our fun Easter is overdue. We spent most of the weekend with the Elliott's in Wisconsin watching the ice melt on the Red Cedar for a warm spring weekend. Morgan and her family made it on Saturday for an Easter egg hunt and our family stuck around for Sunday services and a wonderful brunch with Great-Grandma. CeCe is definitely moving into the terrible twos - she would hit the wall with being tired and say "No!" to almost anything (including smiling for pictures!)
Here are some great pics from our time at Roger and Ellen's - thanks again for another amazing Easter!
